"From Prototype to Volume: Automating Silicon Photonics Test and Packaging."
Silicon photonics chip performance is no longer the main limit on production volume. The constraint sits in the steps around the chip, where measurement has to be trusted and comparable, and processes have to repeat at production rate. Test standards for silicon photonics are still not settled, which makes results harder to compare across tools and over time and slows yield learning. This talk looks at where automation is changing that across the production flow, and at what it takes to move from prototypecapability to volume manufacturing.
